About Sarah Laiosa, D.O.
Dr. Laiosa has practiced full-spectrum inpatient and
outpatient family medicine practice in Burns, Oregon since
2012, and is happy to continue offering services at this
new, independently owned, private practice. In addition,
Dr. Laiosa can still be found at High Country Health and
Wellness Center.
Dr. Laiosa has extensive experience in family medicine,
emergency medicine, rural and frontier medicine, obstetrics
(including surgical obstetrics), weight management
medicine, electronic medical record implementation, and
medical coding. She serves as the medical director for
Downieville Fire Protection District EMS, Harney County
Hospice, Harney County Public Health Department, Malheur
County Public Health, and High Country Health and Wellness
Rural Health Clinic. Dr. Laiosa previously served as the
Contract Medical Director for Eastern Oregon Coordinated
Care Organization (EOCCO), and as EMS Medical Director,
Trauma Director and Chief Medical Informatics Officer
(CMIO) at Harney District Hospital. She is a Clinical
Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Oregon Health and
Science University. Dr. Laiosa also has extensive education
in child abuse examination and testimony and has worked as
the Designated Medical Provider for Harney County
Department of Human Services (DHS). She also runs a foster
care clinic, in collaboration with the other providers at
High Country Health and Wellness Clinic, caring for all of
the children in foster care in Harney County. She is board
certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. Dr.
Laiosa holds a current active medical license in
California, Montana, Oregon, and Wisconsin.
In her spare time, Dr. Laiosa enjoys spending time with her
three children, Jedidiah, Annabelle and Zechariah and her
husband Mike. They have been married since 2006 and Mike
works from home for a software development company in
Southern California. Dr. Laiosa enjoys RV camping, good
books, and travel. Dr. Laiosa has developed a love of
Harney County and has imported almost all of her extended
family to the area as well.
